Alta Alpina Gold Lakes/Yuba Pass Ride 8/22

Tuesday, August 25, 2009

Sierra Valley and surrounds is home to the Plumas Sierra Bicycle Club and they have a great area of mountains, canyons and valleys to ride in with good roads and little traffic.

Alta Alpina friends...Chris, Laura, Tim, Jennie, Tony and Rick on the way up Yuba Pass. Five or so miles of moderate climbing...I think two cars went by us.

The Sierra Buttes/Gold Lakes area is great Northern Sierra riding and hiking. No cars passed us on the long descent....where is everyone, it's Saturday!

Tony, Rick, and Lauren heading up over Gold Lakes Summit...no traffic...where is everyone?

So many miles of great riding here with so little traffic. Sure wish the local club could re-start the Sierraville Century again. Rick along the upper Feather River.

Time has stood still a bit here, the ATM of the 1940's I guess and home of the world famous Sattley Time Trial.

A great day riding with friends in a beautiful area despite some wind at the end.

Ahhh...some local humor too...gotta love it.

Thanks to Tim Rowe for leading this awesome ride.
