Description: Petaluma Sunrise Rotary is hosting its annual cycling event on May 19. The Petaluma Rotary is another of our partners, helping spread the word about Wild Sierra. Their ride starts at Lagunitas Brewery. There are three ride options: half-metric (35 miles), Metric (70 miles, 2851 feet), and the Century (99 miles, 4951 feet). Post ride festival includes good food, cold beer and live music. Sounds like a fun event!

Description: Mt. Bike Poker Run at Nate’s House Saturday, June 2nd Poker run leaves around 9 am (hopefully, we’ll beat the heat) The real party starts when you get back! Party details • Snack Food & beverages provided (Chips, soda, beer, snacks) • The Barbecue will be going strong • Kid friendly -there’s lots of stuff for kids in the backyard – sandbox, trucks, etc. There will also be water play if it’s warm enough • You don’t have to ride the poker run. Hanging out is cool… • Adult friendly Poker Run Details • $5 Ante (Seven card stud, High/Low split) • Easy course • Approx 10 mile loop • Not a race • Start & finish at my house • Special Extra 8th card (High hand only, separate pot & additional $5 Ante) This card will be significantly farther out than the other seven. And the course will be poorly marked. You’d better know your way around the pine nuts if you want that 8th card. • Afterwards we will have do some races in the back for fun and prizes. Description: Sacramento Wheelmen\'s 37th annual ride, \"The Slug is Back\", returns to Amador County on June 16, 2012. They were nice enough to promote our ride, Wild Sierra to their club members so we are returning the favor and asking our members to consider riding the \"Slug\" as a training ride for Wild Sierra. Slug Gulch is a well-known climb for the century and double metric riders. Three routes offered: metric with 4500 feet, century with 7400 feet, double metric with 10,000 feet. Meeting Place: The Iron Mountain Snow-Park parking lot: Mormon Emigrant Trail is off Highway 88, about 12 miles west of Kirkwood. Turn right on Mormon Emigrant, go about 0.5 mile - the parking lot is on the left. Contact me to carpool from Gardnerville.
Description: Most of this loop is on small, very lightly traveled Forest Service roads, most with very good pavement, but there's one stretch that definitely requires good tires. These are remote roads, no stores, so please be self-sufficient. We'll regroup at all intersections, and at Capps Crossing Campground, which is about halfway through and you can get water there.
