Registration: 5:30-6:00. Registration ends at 6:00 sharp for ALL categories!
Road Races and Time Trials: All classes start at 6:15 pm
Helmets:
You gotta wear ‘em, duh. No helmet, no race.
Criteriums and Circuit races: C's and D's start at 6:15 pm A's and B's start right after the C’s and D’s are finished.
Crit/Circuit Rules:
- Please DO NOT warm up on the course when races are in progress. You may warm up on roads outside the course.
RATIONAL: When you’re in a group, you need to know everybody riding is in your race. Also, you are one person out of many that may inadvertently affect the race if you are warming up during other category races. It also makes it easier to keep track of the laps/time and race leaders.
- Ride thru the finish DO NOT sit up or get in the way of the riders behind you.
- There will be NO mentoring during actual races this can be done off the course and special days will be set aside for training.
- Please DO NOT cool down by following the other groups that are racing.
Points:
1st=20, 2nd=17, 3rd=14, 4th=12, 5th=10, 6th place down subtract one
point.
Carrying points will only be available to the C’s and D’s. If you start the season as a C and race down in the D’s then move back to the C’s you will carry half the points earned in the D’s. If you start in the D’s and move to the C’s you will carry half your D points to the C’s.
Aero-Bars:
Can be used ONLY at Time Trials.
You will be asked to take them off
if you show up for Road Races or Crits with them.
Volunteers: 5 points plus 1 free race for volunteering at the Pine Nut Cracker, Carson Valley Classic, or helping Di at a previous Twilight Race. Contact Di @ 782-4729.
Waiver for non-club members: Please download the race waiver, fill it out, & bring it to your first race. (Club members fulfill this requirement when joining the club but I do need a copy at the races for emergency contact purposes.)
Price: $5
for club members; $10 non-club members; $3 for Juniors. Club
Challenges $5 for AACC or RW Club Members. Pre-purchase punch cards
will be available; they will be 6 races @ $30.00. I will keep the
cards filed and will punch them when you ride.
This will eliminate your having to carry cash/checks every week. *Cards not valid for the Tri-Valley Stage Race.
** Tri-Valley Stage Race will have its own punch card.
Tri-Valley Stage Race
Three days, Three valleys, Three courses.
June 24th Jacks Valley TT
June 25th Diamond Valley RR
June 26th East Valley Crit
This will be a separate series and will not count toward the overall points.
Pre-registration required. Sign up at the Thursday Night Races or call Di @ 782-4729
$20.00 for the three days. The fee will cover snacks, prizes for 1st place, etc.
If there is not enough interest and pre-registration we will cancel the Stage Race and
have a regular Crit race on Thursday.
*Club Challenges: The Reno Wheelmen & Alta Alpina will each host 2 Club Challenge races. The club with the best overall results for the top 5 places in these races wins. As these are “team tactics” races, all riders will receive 10 points for participating in each AACC or RW-hosted Club Challenge event.
You will get a number at the start of the season/your first race. You will need to keep this number all season. I will have the sign in sheets set up after the first race with your name and number on it and will use them thru out the rest of the season. This should speed up registration. If you lose your number you will be charged $ 1.00 for a new one.
We will not use the “tags” this year. We will have a camera at the finish
as well as spotters (volunteers needed for this). It will be your responsibility to
be aware of where you finish and to check in at the end of your race to make sure you are placed correctly.
