Where Do the Ride Fees Go?
The Alta Alpina Challenge takes place in a remote area with few public services and little infrastructure.
Permits, police, and emergency services plus other start-up costs account for the largest
portion of the expenses required to produce this event.
The Alta Alpia Cycling Club is a 501(c) not for profit organization. Our mission is to promote cycling in the
Markleeville, Carson Valley, Carson City, and Lake Tahoe region. Any surplus income from this event will
go towards other programs, like our junior race team, that support cycling here.
